“A simply excellent example of tasty young Tempranillo. The palate is lively and fine, zesty and long. Easy drinking with plenty of backbone.”
“Truly medium- bodied and crunchy red fruit personality. Outstanding value for money.”
2010 Ithaca Chardonnay
“Bright, light straw – green, has a long and finely balanced finish.”
2011 Sauvignon Blanc
A real drive and interest in this wine, moving away from one dimensional Sauvignon to impart texture and complexity.
2010 Pinot Noir
“A good dose of mint yet the palate reveals almost luscious level of sweet black fruits. Big end of town Pinot.”
2011 Pinot Gris
“Bright colour, has a ripe candied lemon and spiced bouquet, the palate is generous and rich.”
Nepenthe has been awarded its second trophy in four years for the Best Australian Sauvignon Blanc over £10 at the Decanter World Wine Awards.
The prestigious trophy was awarded to the 2011 Nepenthe Sauvignon Blanc
at the London International Wine Fair overnight, reaffirming the position of Nepenthe’s flagship wines as the best example of the variety in Australia.
Nepenthe won the trophy for the first time in 2009 and has been
strengthening its worldwide reputation for producing a benchmark wine
style ever since. Nepenthe also picked up Decanter Gold for its 2010 Classic Shiraz, only the second vintage ever produced, showcasing the breadth of winemaking skill at Nepenthe.

“2010 Nepenthe Adelaide Hills Shiraz
This is a vibrant, strongly varietal Shiraz
showing dark berry aromas and quality
oak. The tannins are fine and the fruit is
fresh, but the acid is comparatively high.”
Announced at an Awards luncheon held at Mount Lofty House in the Adelaide Hills, Friday 25 November, Nepenthe was pleased to receive four gold medals, three of which went to Nepenthe Reds. The Adelaide Hills Wine Show has become fiercely competitive with more and more wine producers seeing the potential in the high altitude cool climate region. While Nepenthe is accustomed to receiving gongs for its whites, it was a pleasant surprise to add some gold to the medal cabinet for its red wines, two of which have only just been released this year!
