Harvest 2010

March 12, 2010 · Leave a Comment

Harvest 2010 is nearly completed, we just have a small amount of Shiraz and Zinfandel grapes remaining to be harvested.

Our winemaker - Andre Bondar has given us his thoughts on the 2010 vintage to date;

“Harvest conditions have been outstanding with very cool nights and warm days, more like late autumn than the end of summer. The juices look excellent with high natural acid and loads of fresh, clean primary fruit character. The reds have begun to come in as well, with the first Pinots fermenting away right now. Although it is early to tell with these wines, the fruit certainly looked excellent with great balanced canopies and healthy, ripe bunches. All in all it’s early days but 2010 could be a very good vintage in the Adelaide Hills.”

Gold and Trophy

November 27, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Great news for Nepenthe with the 2008 Tempranillo winning Gold and the Trophy for Best Other Red Wine at the Adelaide Hills Wine Show.

Nepenthe winemaker Andre Bondar is delighted with the win “We source the majority of the fruit for this wine from our own Charleston vineyard in the northern Adelaide Hills. These vines, planted in 1996, are producing fantastic fruit from which we can create beautiful, varietal wines. The Nepenthe Tempranillo is created in a style that is heavily influenced by the wines of the North of Spain, the home of Tempranillo.”

The wine is available from the Nepenthe Cellar Door and limited fine wine retailers
