Announced at an Awards luncheon held at Mount Lofty House in the Adelaide Hills, Friday 25 November, Nepenthe was pleased to receive four gold medals, three of which went to Nepenthe Reds. The Adelaide Hills Wine Show has become fiercely competitive with more and more wine producers seeing the potential in the high altitude cool climate region. While Nepenthe is accustomed to receiving gongs for its whites, it was a pleasant surprise to add some gold to the medal cabinet for its red wines, two of which have only just been released this year!

The Royal Melbourne Wine Show has been an annual fixture since 1884, when it was established by the Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria (RASV) to support and promote excellence in Australian winemaking. Today, it is one of Australia’s most respected wine shows, in 2011 attracting 3298 entries from 538 exhibitors.

The National Cool Climate Wine Show receives over 1,000
wine entries representing virtually all cool climate wine
producing regions nationally.

Our Tryst Sparkling has been awarded a GOLD medal at North America’s Largest charitable wine competition. A sensational result for a wine that’s under $15 a bottle!

The Fingerlakes International Wine Competition is the largest charitable wine competition in North America. All net proceeds benefit Camp Good Days and Special Times. Located in the heart of New York State’s Finger Lakes wine country, this not-for-profit organization is dedicated to improving the quality of life for children, adults and families whose lives have been touched by cancer and other life-threatening challenges.

The 11th Annual Finger Lakes International Wine Competition was  judged by a diverse and highly skilled group of 60 national and international judges representing sommeliers, educators, enologists, winemakers, writers, importers, retailers and industry consultants from Argentina, Australia, Chile, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, and elsewhere, as well as the United States.

“…It’s a tip-top example of cool-climate shiraz, and excellent buying as a result.
